The success of our program would not be possible without partnerships with local agencies that assist us in helping our families. Recently we hosted our 3rd Annual Partners Lunch, an event we dedicate to the partnerships that help make our work possible. This year, we honored California Home Builders, Freedom Church, Operation Hope, Anne Lee, LAUSD, Rocky Peak Children’s Program, Community Healing Massage, and Tierra Del Sol for the vital services they provide at the Mission and in the community.

A highlight of the event was hearing from two former guests about their experience overcoming homelessness. They’ve established stable housing with California Home Builders for themselves and their children. One of the speakers made special recognition of the LAPD officers in the room and shared how the police were instrumental in helping her leave an abusive relationship. “You helped me establish a different way of thinking,” she said. “That’s something I’ll pass on to my children and they’ll pass on to theirs. This will effect generations to come.”

At the Mission, we believe it takes a whole community to help homeless families thrive. This event was a reminder of the success that’s possible when the community partners together to help those experiencing homelessness.
