Stories that Inspire.

Victories to Celebrate.

Celebrating second chances, new beginnings, big wins

At RMA SFV, it’s been a time of incredible celebration and deep gratitude as we honor six courageous men and five resilient families who graduated from our Life Recovery Program and successfully transitioned into stable housing. These individuals have not only completed an important chapter in their recovery journey, but they have also stepped into a new season filled with hope, healing, and renewed purpose.

Every time one of our residents reaches a milestone or achieves a personal goal, it moves them one step closer to building stronger self-esteem and experiencing the power of restored hope. These victories are not only personal—they are communal. Each success story represents the dedication, hard work and perseverance of individuals determined to transform their lives.

At RMA SFV, we believe that recovery is not a journey meant to be walked alone. Our men and families need a supportive community—a village—to surround them with encouragement, compassion, and tangible resources. Thankfully, we have been blessed with tremendous support from organizations, churches, and people like you who walk with us every step of the way.

We were honored to have faithful partners such as Shepherd Church, Valley Church, Brewline, and many others who join us in celebrating these powerful stories of recovery and transformation. Their presence, prayers, and continued commitment mean the world to those we serve. Their support reminds our residents that they are not forgotten and that a community believes in their potential.

One of our recent graduates from the men’s Life Recovery Program shared, “Completing this 10-month program means I now have the tools I need for a fresh start. I know I have a chance at life again. This has been an amazing journey.” His words reflect the heart of what we do—offering second chances and planting seeds of change

We also celebrated the resilience of a family who became unhoused after the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in January. Through the compassionate care of our Home Again program, they found temporary shelter, stability, and ultimately, a new home. They described the shelter as “a place full of angels,” a safe haven where they received help at their most vulnerable time.

Many attendees at the graduation event were deeply moved by the testimonies they heard. It was a reminder of the real impact of their generosity—whether through volunteer hours, monthly donations, or contributions to our thrift stores. These acts of kindness make recovery possible.

At Rescue Mission Alliance San Fernando Valley, we remain committed to doing all we can to support, encourage, and empower every individual and family we serve. We believe in walking alongside people through their hardest seasons and helping them find stability and new life.

We invite you to please visit sfvrescuemission.org to read more detailed stories of the men and families we celebrated this month. Their journeys are powerful examples of what’s possible when hope is restored and a community comes together. Thank you for partnering with us as we ‘Change Lives for Good.’

Sincerely, Josie Casarrubias RMA SFV Director
