Looking Back on 2015

Close up of key

With 2016 underway, it’s a good time to look forward at what the year might hold and it’s also a time to reflect on 2015. Last year was one of the most exciting years in our history. After years of planning and anticipation, we opened our new 90 bed family shelter in Northridge. With the increase in homelessness in Los Angeles County, this resource could not have come online at a better time. The new facility has significantly increased our ability to serve families who are experiencing homelessness.

We’ve also seen good results through our program offerings. Roughly 85% of our shelter guests have been placed in their own apartments and 80% of our guests secured full-time employment. Our mobile shower program, the only one of its kind in Southern California, continues to provide much needed dignity to our chronically homeless neighbors. The program acts as a first step in the journey off the streets.

Finally, we have provided tens of thousands of meals to our neighbors who otherwise would not have had daily sustenance. Our work is only possible because of our generous donors like you. Thank you for making our work possible! I hope this coming year holds amazing things for you.

Happy New Year,

Wade
