One of the most fulfilling parts of working at the Mission is seeing former clients come back and volunteer. It’s amazing to see the transformation from the day they move in to when they are in stable housing and ready to give back. They each have something unique to offer the families in the shelter based on their experiences in homelessness and their God-given gifts.

We recently started a group called Women Inspiring Women lead by former guests. Each month the leadership team plans a group mentoring session on various topics for the current guests. They share their stories, give trainings on relevant topics, and more than anything, provide a source of hope to those still struggling with homelessness. It’s amazing seeing these women, who once felt like there was no hope, confidently leading and reminding others of their potential. The women leading this group are living testaments of what’s possible when the community comes together to support those in need.
