Rocky Peak Community Helps In Transforming The Whole Person

Group of girls

Here at the Mission, we value giving our guests opportunities to transform themselves holistically: body, mind, and soul. Through our amazing network of partners, we are able to offer a variety of programs, including therapy, bible studies, life skills classes, art classes, and much more.

One such partner is the Church at Rocky Peak. For several years, volunteers from Rocky Peak have come to offer weekly bible studies for our women and children, as well as a support group for our teens. Lou Slade, Tricia Lawley, and Marilou Harris lead these programs with a team of volunteers who join them in investing in the lives of our families.

Through these programs, our guests experience love, mentorship, and community. “Whenever we come, we are greeted with these precious little faces looking up at us with big smiles and at times hugs—and we just love it,” said Marilou, who leads the children’s bible activities. Our guests also find opportunity to grow relationships and community by attending weekly church services at Rocky Peak with Tricia and Grant Lawley, who offer rides to church for our guests on Sunday mornings. Being a part of this faith community can often help in our guests’ healing process.

We are so grateful for the time, energy, love, and passion that Rocky Peak volunteers invest in our families.
