Did you know that, in addition to housing individuals experiencing homelessness, the rescue mission also serves the homeless by providing showers to those in need? Through our Survival Outreach Services (SOS) program, we are able to bring a portable shower to several different service locations throughout the community, offering a hot meal, hot shower, and case management to those looking for support. This program allows Homeless Navigator, Jim Brown, to build relationships with people, connecting them with resources in the community. Client Vincent Frazier gives credit to the SOS program for helping him find stable employment. He explains, “Through this program, I’ve been able to find hope and success. This program has given me the opportunity to turn my life around.” Jim met Vincent at one of our service locations and was able to connect him to Ralphs Grocery Stores, a company that, in the past year, has hired 16 of the Mission’s past guests. We are thrilled for Vincent and thank Ralphs for giving him the opportunity to thrive.
