Local Partnerships Help Us All Serve More

The work we do at the Rescue Mission Alliance San Fernando Valley could not be done without our partnerships with several other local organizations throughout the Los Angeles area. North Valley Caring Services is just one of those many partnerships, and the outcomes we have shared working together in conjunction with our SOS Mobile Shower unit has been a true gift.

NVCS serves families and individuals from North Hills, Panorama City, Van Nuys, and Arleta, some of the poorest communities in the San Fernando Valley. They offer a wide range of services to our homeless community free of charge on a weekly basis, including education, food, and life skills programs. They also provide one of the best breakfasts in the San Fernando Valley every Monday, along with showers for individuals and families.

The Mission’s partnership with NVCS began through a need for help with their shower program. “Their facility was being renovated and expanded from two showers to four,” said the Mission’s Homeless Navigator, Jim Brown. “This construction meant they would have to discontinue shower service for an indefinite period of time. We were able to partner with them by providing our mobile shower unit while the renovations were being completed.”

Because of this successful relationship, our shared passion for our work, and the incredible need in the North Hills area, we will be partnering with NVCS to host our annual Family Thanksgiving Feast at their facility this year. Moving our annual Family Thanksgiving Feast from Van Nuys to North Hills will allow us to reach many more families and individuals who are in need. Thank you to North Valley Caring Services for partnering with us on this meaningful event.
