Rodolfo is reborn, renewed, and ready to live

Rodolfo can’t believe how much his life has changed since graduating the Life Recovery Program.

In May 2024, Rodolfo walked into RMA SFV’s Men’s Life Recovery Program broken, tired, and fully aware that he needed help. “I was an alcoholic. I was a man who had lost patience, lost perspective, and lost hope. Addiction had robbed me not just of years, but of the ability to see life in a positive way. When you’re dependent on substances, you’re hopeless, you can’t see life through any other lens.”

But today, Rodolfo is a different man.

Through the program’s classes, Bible studies, and faith-centered recovery process, Rodolfo experienced transformation from the inside out. He was baptized at the Mission, marking the beginning of something powerful—a new, hopeful life, rooted in God.

“I didn’t grow up in church, but I always believed there was a God. Through the Mission, I’ve come to truly know Him. Today, God is real to me. He is at the center of who I am and how I see the world.”

Rodolfo graduated the Life Recovery Program and is currently in the Transitional Living Program, housing offered to men post-graduation while they begin reintegrating into normal life. “Now I’ve been through the first program, I’ve learned how to be patient. I see life with color and the positive in everything that’s around me. I truly see life through a different lens thanks to God, thanks to the program, and thanks to everything that I have learned through the Life Recovery Program process.”

Rodolfo is back to working full-time in construction and he now has big dreams concerning his career path. “I’m working with the foreman learning how to read blueprints and taking steps to grow in my job. I want to be able to provide for my family, to leave a legacy—an inheritance, even a home—for my daughter and granddaughter.”

Delighting in his newly transformed life, Rodolfo hopes to reconnect with his family. “One of my biggest dreams is to reunite with my daughter and granddaughter. I want to be the father and grandfather I never was before,” he said. “I also dream of visiting my brother. I lost seven years to addiction and incarceration, years I can’t get back. My brother is diabetic and has had serious health complications, including an amputation. I want to visit him clean and sober, as a whole man, and let him see who I’ve become.”

Rodolfo also looks forward to sharing his life with someone new. “I dream of finding a lifelong partner. Someone to walk this new path with me – peacefully, happily, and with purpose. Somone I can enjoy all the beautiful things of life with.”

It’s difficult for Rodolfo to express what the Mission, and those who support it, has meant to him. “I feel like every donor is an angel sent from God for me and for all the other men in the program. It’s because of their help that it was possible for me to enter recovery. I will forever be eternally grateful to donors, supporters, and anyone who makes this possible.

“Thanks to this program, I’m a new man, I have a new life, and I have new direction. I have a life that I look forward to. I am forever grateful for everything that transformed my life.”
