Wade’s Word – May

Wade and Jess

Last month we hosted our Pancakes & Progress event and we were happy to see such a great turnout. While the pancakes and bacon were wonderful, the best treat for me was to hear from one of our former guests, Jessica.

Jessica and her son August were guests at our Family Success Center over a year ago. It was the second time their family had experienced homelessness and Jessica was committed to it being their last time. She took advantage of every service we had to offer, including taking part in the Microenterprise program at Pepperdine University. Jessica holds a masters degree in marketing, and through her mentoring and education at Pepperdine, has opened her own marketing company. Over pancakes, Jessica shared with our guests that she and August recently moved out of their apartment and into a two-bedroom house in Woodland Hills. Her business is thriving, August is excelling in school, and life is better than it has ever been.

The Rescue Mission Alliance San Fernando Valley is in the business of seeing lives changed for good. We are committed to helping each person who comes to us for help experience a thriving life. We love to see people restored and then some. Jessica and August are a testament to what happens when determination, miracles, and resources come together.
