Recently, one of our shower program guests, Thomas, had his bike stolen. He has a part-time job and his bike was his main mode of transportation. Upon hearing about Thomas’ predicament, we immediately contacted our good friend, Fred Faustman, from Bike Guys Bikes. A few days later, Fred delivered a new bike to the Mission. It has brand new tires, a freshly oiled chain, a bike lock, and lights to keep Thomas safe during his commute. When we delivered the bike to Thomas, he couldn’t hold back his tears of joy. This is just one example of how the business community comes together to help people, like Thomas, have a chance at a better life. It’s a reminder that if all of us do our part, we can make a huge difference.
